Vashon Island is only accessible by boat with multiple options to get here. We are just a short ferry ride from Seattle or Tacoma and from Southworth on the Kitsap Peninsula.
Pedestrians, cars and bicycles can use Washington State Ferries.
From West Seattle: Fauntleroy-to-Vashon Route
From Tacoma: Pt Defiance-to-Tahlequah Route
From Kitsap Peninsula: Southworth-to-Vashon Route
DOWNTOWN SEATTLE: From Monday through Friday, pedestrians and bicycles can also come directly from downtown Seattle on the King County Water Taxi .
If you prefer to come on foot, the King County Metro bus routes run up and down Vashon Island (routes 118 & 119). We also offer a shuttle from the Vashon ferry terminal for those exploring on our electric bikes.

Vashon E-Bike 17205 Vashon Hwy SW, C-2
From the North end ferry: head straight on Vashon Highway for a few miles. Turn right into Vashon Village, across the street from the library. We have plenty of parking.
From the South end ferry: head straight up Vashon Highway for about 10 miles. You will pass through Burton, town center and the shop will be in Vashon Village on the left side of the road, across from the library. We have a large parking lot available.
Vashon Watersports 8900 SW Harbor Drive
Driving Directions: We’re located on the Burton Peninsula – getting here is easy…..
From the North end ferry: head straight down Vashon Highway. Go straight through 3 four-way stop signs and turn left at the fourth; then either left or right at the next stop sign (it’s a loop) and drive to the Jensen Point Boathouse, 8900 SW Harbor Drive.
From the South end ferry: head straight up Vashon Highway and turn right at the first four-way stop sign; then left or right at the next stop sign (it’s a loop) and drive to the Jensen Point Boathouse, 8900 SW Harbor Drive.
Camping @ King County’s Maury Island Marine Park
Once on Maury Island, head south on Dockton Road SW, east on SW 240th Street, south on 59th Avenue SW, and east on SW 244th Street. There is a parking lot and trail access on SW 244th Street. From the parking lot it is a three-quarter mile walk down a gravel maintenance road to the beach.
Maury Island Natural Area is served by Metro bus route 119 along Dockton Road SW.
